Vox Maris simulates by software a radar transponder. A telecommunications transponder or transponder is a device that emits an identifiable signal in response to a question.
The term comes from the fusion of the words Transmitter (Transmitter) and Responder. The radar transponder is an emergency system framed within the requirements of GMDSS sea rescue. That is, a system that is used when the boat is in a critical situation. This system is also known as SART (Search and rescue radar transponder).
Its functionality is to respond to an echo of a radar signal. Therefore, it is often called "responder". As a signal of a radar responder begins to emit.
Its operation is very simple and allows fast and efficient emergency communications, emergency or routine with other vessels. The operation and the graphical display of the equipment are simulated emulating the real equipment available in the market, achieving an unique realism by software allowing the user to operate in the same way that it would on the real equipment. Even the simulator is ready to operate with touch-screen, thereby increasing the realism achieved.
Among the most important simulated functions includes:
- External view of the battery expiry date
- On/off
- Test
- Alarms: Visual and acoustic
- Operating Instructions
- Lock to prevent accidental activation
